A
There's an underlying theme to the stories of Noah, Babylon and Abraham that
each story shares in common.

Once the thematic connection is made between these three stories , it becomes
easy to see that the events of Noah and Babylon are the reason why God called
Israel to be a nation through Abraham. This connection is made through the
teachings on these three stories in their respective two Torah Portions.
Theme B
Like the stories of Noah, Babylon, and Abraham, there are thematic
connections made in the next several Torah portions as well that tie each
together as telling the story of the Gospel message and how God saves and
disciples each one of us.
- VAYERA - Gen 18-22 - The stories of Isaac's birth, Sodom and Gomorrah,
Hagar and Abimelech all speak to us about the new birth experience that
someone goes through when they embrace the Gospel. This lesson
also looks at 12+ themes that all 5 stories share in common - themes that help
us understand the lessons behind the lessons that God is trying to teach to us
with these stories.
- CHAYAH SARAH - Gen 23-25 - When Abraham sends his servant to find a
wife for his son, this story spiritually symbolizes how God calls his own
bride, and this lesson explores the spiritual parallels between that story and
God's calling his spiritual bride.
- TOLDOT - Gen 25-28 - The struggle between Jacob and Esau symbolizes the
struggle between the old man and and the fleshly nature after the new birth,
which is explored in the teaching on this Torah portion.
- VEYETSE - Gen 28-31 - The story of Jacob and his wives symbolizes how the
struggle between the old man of sin and the new man of the spirit affects the
bride of the Messiah and the purification of the human heart and the fruit
that is produced from that.
- Hear about what the smybolic meaning of each of the 12 tribes and the
role they are intended to play in Israel.
- Hear about the symbolism of stone and oil and the building of the House
of God at Bethel.
- Hear about the symbolism behind the rods Jacob used and the livestock
and why Jacob's rods made them strong.
